Hello, I'm Alfons. In 2023, I started working as a luthier in Pego, after two years of preparing. I have studied music and technology (HKU, Hilversum) between 2010 and 2014. I have been a guitarist since i was a kid, and I've always been a music enthusiast. I am now combining several passions in my work.
Regarding music, I'm interested in the theory as well as the mathematics behind musical systems. During my studies, I did research on tuning systems. Since then, I produce my electronic music in mean tone temperament, for example. As a guitarist, what I missed were physical instruments for music production in mean tone temperament. That in the first place has been the reason to start this kind of work.
Equal temperaments are practical tunings. The most famous is twelve tone equal temperament (12-TET), but there are many more options, also for guitars. I'll make you the guitar of your dreams. We can talk about tunings and your favorite spots to put the frets.
If you want to buy a guitar with me, there are two options:
- A finished guitar
- A custom guitar
The first option is a little cheaper and depends on the offer I have. There is no list or waiting time. Prices will be between €2,000 and €2,800 more or less.
The second option starts at €2,679. The final price depends on the options: type of wood, tuners, and number of frets, for example. It's also possible to order a new design if you want something more unique.
All guitars are sold with an ABS Gator case already included in the price.
